Sultanate Palace
The Sultanate Palace is a beautiful wooden replica of the original 15th
century palace of Melaka’s extinct Sultanate, based on sketches from the ancient Malay Annals, built entirely
without nails.
The museum currently displays about 1,350 items, most of which are
beautiful ancient artefacts, prints, photographs, and drawings which present the history and cultural
heritage of the Malay Sultanate of Melaka, along with other communities which came to settle during the
Sultanate period.
The famed conflict between legendary warriors Hang Tuah and Hang Jebat,
along with traditional costumes and the royal bedchamber, are among the few exhibited in the
galleries.
Visitors can tour the exquisite Sultanate Palace daily, between 9am to
6pm from Tuesdays to Sundays. The admission fee is RM2 for adults and RM0.50 for children and
students.
